“Yu Yue Lou,” the pinnacle of Cantonese cuisine in Taichung.

YU YUE LOU This meal was a treat from James, Tom, and their brother John, allowing me the privilege of tasting this Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant.

The reception area, carved from a single block of White Mamara marble, exuded luxury.

But let’s cut to the chase and talk about the food:

Started off with some untouched beers and hot tea
The char siu was perfectly grilled
Followed by perfectly grilled char siu and tender beef
The whole roasted duck was a grand sight
And the Hainanese chicken was simply delicious
Australian king prawns and crispy pork with mustard sauce

Claimed to be the most expensive Cantonese restaurant in Taichung, the quality of the food was impeccable. The attentive staff patiently explained how to enjoy each dish, adding a nice touch to the chef’s creations.
