Boon Tong Kee is a well-established restaurant hailing from Singapore, renowned for its classic Hainanese chicken rice. Since its founding in 1979, it has become a landmark of Singaporean cuisine, celebrated for its dedication to quality and tradition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This time, I tried the branch located in the gourmet food section of The EmQuartier in Bangkok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since I hadn\u2019t tried it in Thailand yet and had a free evening alone, I decided to give it a go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boon Tong Kee is famous for its signature Hainanese steamed chicken. Using premium chicken, they cook it low and slow to keep it tender and juicy, with silky skin and delicate meat. Served with fragrant rice cooked in chicken fat, each bite is enhanced by dipping sauces\u2014ginger garlic and chili\u2014that make it even more flavorful. For fans of Hainanese chicken rice, this dish offers a near-perfect experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some people say the salted egg yolk prawns are a must-try, with their crispy coating and rich salted egg sauce, but I skipped those this time. Instead, I went for braised duck, soy-braised intestines, and spinach in a broth with three types of egg. And, of course, a small plate of the classic Hainanese chicken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aside from their renowned chicken rice, Boon Tong Kee serves a variety of traditional Chinese dishes, all prepared with authentic flavors and techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First came the spinach with three kinds of egg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next was the braised intestines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, the braised duck\u2014absolutely satisfying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The relaxed and warm atmosphere makes this a great spot for family gatherings or small get-togethers with friends. The dishes have a consistent quality typical of a well-established chain, allowing both locals and visitors to enjoy a genuine taste of Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
