After a long and tiring day, I was too weary to go out in search of food, so I decided to dine at Tapestry Restaurant inside Classic Kameo Ayutthaya.

The menu offers a rich variety of classic Chinese dishes with a local touch, providing a dining experience that doesn’t cut corners. I ordered a few well-regarded dishes, and they immediately lifted my spirits.

First came the Chinese sausage fried rice, with each grain nicely separated. The sausage was savory without being greasy, and a little egg and green onion made every bite satisfying.

The deep-fried taro rolls were crispy but not greasy, with smooth and soft taro filling that carried a subtle sweetness with every bite.

The Southeast Asian-style coconut milk chicken soup was an unexpected delight, with a rich, slightly sweet broth. The coconut milk and chicken went together surprisingly well, and a bowl seemed to melt away my tiredness.

The century egg shrimp dumplings were an interesting combination. The wrappers were pleasantly springy, the filling generous, and the distinctive century egg flavor had me ordering a few more baskets.

The pork rice noodle rolls were fairly standard, but tasted good served hot.

The butter-baked sea bass had a crisp, fragrant exterior and tender flesh, especially delicious with the rich aroma of the butter sauce poured over it.

Lastly, the crispy pork stir-fried with mixed vegetables paired crunchy pork skin with fresh vegetables. Each bite had both the savory aroma of pork and the refreshing taste of vegetables.

By the end of the meal, I felt comforted in both body and mind, and could appreciate the care and attention to detail in the cooking. Tapestry Restaurant is certainly a highlight of the hotel, a comfortable and tasty choice when I don’t feel like heading out for food.
