The chandelier in the lobby of Asia Hotel Bangkok is so extravagant that nearly everyone passing through stops to snap a photo.

This long-standing hotel feels like a time capsule in the heart of Bangkok. Walking inside, you’re immediately greeted by a sense of nostalgia—this used to be one of the top choices for travelers back in the day. While it’s clear that the hotel has aged, the rooms are still fairly spacious, though the facilities are noticeably outdated.

Conveniently located in the city center, the hotel is just a short walk from the Asoke interchange, offering easy access to both the BTS Skytrain and MRT subway. Whether you’re here for business or sightseeing, getting around is quite manageable.

Rooms come with free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, and a minibar. The bed felt a bit firm (maybe I’m just used to softer ones), and the carpet shows signs of age. However, the soundproofing is surprisingly decent.
The bathroom is also on the older side in terms of decor, but all the essential functions are there and work just fine.

For travelers who enjoy exploring Bangkok, Asia Hotel is still a solid option. From here, you can walk to nearby shopping malls or soak in the city’s vibrant night scenes. Whether it’s a short stay or a longer visit, the hotel offers a familiar and comforting atmosphere—like returning to an old home you haven’t seen in a while.
Breakfast leans slightly toward Chinese-style offerings.
